Being grateful

  • by

Sometimes all the negative things get us down. It takes so long for us to recognize how lucky we are despite everything else. Today, I just sat down and thought about what I’m grateful for.

Knowing how to cook

Knowing how to cook and bake is something I am incredibly thankful for. It not only saves me some money (why eat out all the time when you can make the same thing??) but it definitely helps me chill out. I’ve been known to bake late in the evenings so its calm and quiet and nobody is around to bug me in the kitchen. And I’m sure my family is also grateful I know how to cook, lol.

Good health, sort-of

I am glad to have gotten back on track despite my recent cancer diagnosis and surgery. It looks like everything was removed during the surgery so I’m GLAD. There were no complications, I still have my voice, I recovered well… and now on the road to just getting healthier. I’ve had a total thyroidectomy in June and have opted for RAI (radioactive iodine) treatment sometime this year but I feel positive!

Love, family, friends

Every adult will tell you that it’s hard to develop friendships as you get older. Having moved thousands of miles away from my friends – I know how hard it is to build new friendships and even keep old ones. I am grateful for the ones I do have now and try to make it a point to keep in touch.

Also thankful for family – that I know I can rely on them no matter what, and that they’re healthy and in a good spot in their lives. It makes me less worried and anxious and I am thankful for that.

Best of all, I am thankful for finding my love. Took so damn long to find Marc but I will not change anything about that. He’s definitely one of the best things that came into my life and every day is a blessing.

First visit to Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont. We're each other's MINE <3.

What are you grateful for?
